Introduction

The Test Portal provides a web-based platform to develop tests of different types and patterns. The site provides an infrastructure for the users to design their own tests according to their requirements. The "Personality Assessment System" provides platform to design Psychometric Tests including IQ and EQ tests.

Simply we can say that it is a web site where users take and make tests. 

 A Web Site Where Users Take Tests
It provides site administrators a platform to develop tests of different types and patterns including psychometric tests. The site visitors then take these tests. This aspect of our application is similar to what we have already seen in form of some popular sites for example www.emode.com.

A Web Site Where Users Make Tests
The site provides an infrastructure for the users to design their own tests according to their requirements. The users can be individuals, testing organizations, institutes or businesses intended to assess or train their employees. The site visitors then take these tests.

Modules and Users Classification

Administrator Site
Provides platform for designing "Standard Tests". Standard Tests are designed by site Administrator and can be of any type depending on the requirement and purpose behind the test. For example a test which examines user’s abilities in a specific subject or skill falls in the category of “Skill Test”.

Expert Site
Experts are authenticated psychologists/psychiatrists who are responsible for designing Psychometric Tests. "Psychometric Tests" includes IQ, EQ, Personality, Relationship Tests etc.
For this purpose the site provides a separate area for the Experts. That is called Expert Site.

User Site (The area actually accessed by ordinary users)
Ordinary user can be a Test Taker (Who takes any test published on the site) or Test Maker (Who makes any test for publishing). The site provides all facilities for designing and managing tests. 

Personality Assessment System & The IQ Test Survey

“Personality Assessment System” is the part of our application that provides is a platform for designing Psychometric Tests. For this part we worked very hard and have to go through the huge history of Intelligence including the topics like, What is intelligence, theories of intelligence, founders of IQ and IQ scales, validity of IQ Tests, principles of test construction, Terman’s research, twins theory, nature of intelligence tests, influence of inheritance on intelligence, influence of environment on intelligence, Emotional Quotient, EQ Tests and Daniel Goleman’s theory of multiple intelligences.

Psychometric Tests are designed differently because they are based on the actual data, how did actually people perform on the test. For this purpose the same test is conducted from a large number of test takers and then using the standard deviation and z-score the scores are determined. Therefore we designed our own IQ Test and conducted it from 700+ students including all the students of Hamdard University Faisalabad Campus and the MBBS (Final Year) of PMC. Very proudly our final project advisor Sir Zafar Iqbal topped our IQ Test with an IQ 151.

Tools and Technologies Used

We developed it using technologies and tools including UML, JAVA Beans, JAVA Server Programming (JSP), JAVAScript, JAVA Mail API, HTML, CSS, MySQL 4.1, Sun One Studio 1 CE, Microsoft Visio, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Macromedia Fireworks MX, SQLyog 3.1 and Top Style Pro 1.5.
